The Asian Workshop on Symmetric Key Cryptography aka ASK is a pioneering initiative by like minded scientists whose aim is to promote research on symmetric key cryptography, which includes research on various cryptographic primitives like block ciphers, stream ciphers, hash functions, analysis, designs, proofs and implementations of these primitives etc. This time ASK is coming to Chennai,India. The workshop will be held inside the campus of Society for Electronic Transaction and Security (SETS) on 19,20,21 and 22 December,2014 . The workshop is cosponsored by International Association of Cryptologic Research (IACR).

The program will follow the design of the past ASK workshops containing two parts, invited talks and group discussions. ASK 2014 targets active students and young researchers in the field of cryptography to learn and collaborate in small interest groups. There is no participation fee, interested researchers are welcome to attend the workshop. PhD, master and bachelor students please visit our registration page for information about registering for the workshop. We regret to inform you that we cannot provide any funding to cover your travel cost. There is however limited funding available to support partial travel costs of some graduate students. This funding will be given on a case by case basis, it is not guaranteed that every student applicant will receive funding. We encourage PhD students working in the area of Symmetric key cryptography to attend the workshop lectures and participate in group research in the afternoons. A limited number of seats for the groups are available. In addition, to encourage Bachelors or Masters students having interest in Cryptography, we have some extra seats for only the lectures in the morning sessions. Some of the motivated students from this group may also be selected for the afternoon group sessions if we have some seats remaining.

Form for registration Please fill the attached form (either pdf or doc) and mail as instructed in the form. Attach your CV along with the form. If you wish to apply for partial travel support then attach a letter of support from your PhD supervisor as well. Please mail ONLY ONE FILE which contains all the documents.

The subject of your mail should be [Registration form for ASK 2014]. Ensure to use this format in the subject or risk your mail being rejected as spam by our mail filters.

Partial travel and accommodation support

We intend to provide partial travel support to PhD students attending the workshop. The exact amount of support will be decided later. If you would like to apply for this support then attach your CV with publication list and a letter of support from your supervisor, along with the registration form.

We are attempting to get a few hostel rooms for the attendees in nearby academic institutions. However, as of now, this is not certain. Please make your own arrangements for travel and accommodation. Any information on accommodation will be updated on this website.
